London in Motion (1896-1908)

The Underground Map released this fascinating- perhaps the earliest known- movie footage of London on August 25, 2016. This is a montage of materials from both British Pathé and the British Film Institute. The film opens with scenes from a busy Blackfriars Bridge in 1896 where walkers curiously staring at the newly-arrived strange phenomenon, and it ends at the 1908 London Olympics.
